A battery is based on the transformation of chemical energy into electrical energy. A battery is made up of diverse elements or reactive chemical components such as zinc, manganese dioxide or silver dioxide and a conductive solution. When a battery-operated apparatus is running, the active elements react and the battery supplies the necessary electric energy to power the device.
Take action to help save your devices by doing the following:
The saline battery
Made of mainly zinc casing, composed of a mixture of manganese dioxide, carbon, acidic, salts and water. The battery is an economical energy source meant for low-drain devices such as alarm clocks, TV remotes, etc.
The Alkaline battery
It procures a powerful energy source for all devices such as electronic toys, personal torches and many more. This is because of the chemistry it uses - zince, albeit pulverulent and extremely pure manganese dioxide.
The Lithium battery
Made essentially of lithium, this battery supplies an extraordinary energy source for intermittent or intensive use of all digital devices. Energizer is the only company in the world to manufacture lithium and iron sulphide batteries in AA - the most widely used and practical size.
The rechargeable battery
Thanks to accumulators, it's rechargeable when its energy reserves are depleted.
Yes. Much environmental concern centres on heavy metals. Lithium is the lightest metal known. You can read more about Energizer and the environment.
Keep moisture from clogging the air hole by opening the hearing aid compartment every night. Turning your hearing aid off when not in use can also extend your battery life.
Batteries are generally divided into two types - primary and secondary. Primary batteries are used once and thrown away. Secondary batteries can be recharged and used again. Generally speaking, alkaline batteries are primary batteries. Rechargeable batteries contain reversible chemicals, allowing them to be recharged again and again.
A lantern has three main characteristics differentiating it from a flashlight. A lantern traditionally has a handle and is not tube-shaped, it has a large head and a large reflector and is powered by a lantern battery or four D cell batteries.
